Feeding Families

Every monday, A Friend in need provides food parcels to approximately 200 families, living in dire need. For many, this will be the only food they receive all week.

Unfortunately, the need far outweighs the supply, and many are turned away empty handed.

Woolworths kindly donates any excess fresh food from their local stores with the understanding that we collect it from them. However, tinned food, mealie meal, sugar and any dry groceries have to be sourced from elsewhere.

Due to financial constraints A friend in need does not always have a vehicle available, neither can we afford to employ a driver on a full time basis, and therefore, provisions are often limited and can only sustain a family for two to three days.
